Our company is all about special care for those who have dysfunction from pain or pain from dysfunction.
How are we different from the Physical Therapy clinics down the road? First of all, our clinic is focused on one person at a time. There are no doubling or tripling up of patients during your visit. This makes us understand you and your condition better. There is a better chance of your recovery and healing when we get to know the person instead of the diagnosis. This is according to the Father of Medicine, Hippocrates. Another difference between us and the other clinics is that we do not, and will not, hire non-PT personnel to do any of your treatments. We will only hire those who are qualified to help you.
As therapists, we are known for exercising our patients and we believe the benefits of exercises. However, there is a correct time, intensity, and type of exercises for every special person. Not all patients are the same. Therefore, not all exercises should be custom made for you. There are exercises that make pain worse. This is our expertise. Pain, whether new or chronic, has its own characteristic.
My name is Olive N. Deguzman and I am the main therapist in our company. My business partner is my youngest daughter, Adrienne. She takes care of the business aspect and she lets me focus on patient care. I have treated thousands of patients in over 30 years and have supervised many therapists in my career in Florida. Therefore I have known of the different styles of treatments available out there. I had 2 very successful practices in Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda, Florida before I retired in Palatka due to illness. However, after 7 years, I decided to go back to work because I know my heart was called to do so. I have also been a patient as well. I am a biologist(Pre-Med) and a physical therapist as well. By nature, I am a researcher and I do not let a problem go by without an in depth look at you. This gives me a great advantage in knowing the human body. I call myself an integrative physical therapist because I believe I cannot get rid of your pain and dysfunction if I only treat one aspect. The human being has body, soul and spirit. They have to work together to be successful in its endeavors.
